Om Sri Gurubhyo Namah
BrahmaSri SivaSankara Sadhguru was amongst the greatest Jnaanis in the Jnaana Guru Parampara who lived in the Dakshina Bharata Bhoomi (Souther n part of India). He lived near the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent mostly in the area around Kanyakumari and Trivandrum.
Born to a Maha Sattvika Brahmin, Sri Venkitaraman Potti and Smt. Chellamma Pilla, he was as a “SROTREEYA BRAHMA NISHTA” (one who is steadfast in Brahma Bodham as lauded in the ‘Srutis’-Vedas), “ANUBHAVA-ADVAITI” (one who is himself - the fullest experience of ‘Advaita Swaroopam’), “BRAHMAVIDVARISHTA” (the fourth and the highest state among the ‘Brahmavid Jnaanis’), SARVASASTRA PAARANGATHA (one who is the master and the repository of all the ‘Shastras’).
His methods were similar to the Great Tamizh Sidddha Traditions and was a master in the unique Sri Vidya Marga. Known as an Avatara of Lord Subrahmanya himself, he lived during the time of the MahaGuru Sri Sadhu Gopala Swamikal of Poojapura in Trivandrum, and was deeply connected with the great saint. Great spiritual luminaries such as Chaanaanki Swami, Makkidi Labba, Mannenna Mastan, Sri Sivananda Parmahamsa, Unnaavalakkada Swamiyar among others, were also connected with him. He had many amazing incidents of unique spiritual experiences as witnessed by the select people around him. He was a guide to many seekers/sadhakas for various higher spiritual and select practices. The fact that he still continues to guide the genuine seekers in the most unique ways says volumes of his greatness.
His MahaSamadhi was on the Shukla Paksha Trayodasi day of the Malayala month Vrishchika, corresponding to November-December period. The Samadhi was at his house, Siva Nivas at Colachel, part of the Konnakodu family, on December 6, 1965.
Later, Pujya Valli Avathara Sri Sulochana Amma, who was married to Sadguru, also attained Samadhi on November 6, 2003. Her Samadhi is placed near his MahaSamadhi.
The divine couple, Sri SivaSankara Guru and Sri Sulochana Amma had nine children –
